Long Term Steam Plant Improvements At Basildon University Hospital

Ellie Lee

MCL Energy is rolling out a series of long-term plant investment initiatives including the installation of boiler economisers and upgrading of the existing burner control systems at Basildon University Hospital. These plant improvements are an integral part of the Trusts rolling capital programme.

Recently, Hamworthy Envirojet combustion equipment was upgraded to the latest high efficiency digital combustion controls. The upgrade of the digital control and burner management system deliver energy and efficiency savings (associated with the combustion process), which will be passed directly to the Trust. Inherently the plant will be more reliable and is protected from becoming obsolete to ensure continuation of service and security of steam supplies to the Hospital.

Jason Perry, Managing Director of MCL Energy commented, “Our Projects Department has delivered a variety of boiler house improvements and efficiency upgrades to ensure the Hospital Trust receives reliable, high efficiency steam supported further by our on-going daily on-site presence via our South East regional healthcare engineering team.”
