The new Medium Plant Combustion Directive (MPCD) was introduced into UK law on the 17th December 2017.
It has been introduced by UK government as a result of EU targets to monitor equipment between 1-50MW. For an example if your boiler house contains 2 x 800kW boilers and a 1.2MW CHP engine, the CHP engine will be regulated under the MPCD.
